About the Bi-Model
My unique hand-crafted Ball Overdenture Bi-Model clearly demonstrates the cosmetic and retentive advantages of attachment retained overdentures.
Patients can place the overdenture on both sides to experience the difference for themselves. When used in this way, patients play an active role in their treatment planning and decision-making. This leads to greater case acceptance.
One side of the Bi-Model has a partially edentulous ridge with a decoronated root in the #22 position and an implant in the #27 position. Both the root and implant have a generic ball attachment and are visible through the clear acrylic base.
A separate overdenture with two female retentive rings is included. It rests loosely on the side without the ball attachments, while securing to the attachment side with an audible click.
The B-Model is always on the operatory counter and has helped me clearly communicate to patients the benefits of saving teeth.

Ingenious idea, patients can work the model in their hands and understand the many advantages of having something to anchor their dentures onto.

Patients can visually see and understand the services I am suggesting. It helps my staff to provide greater patient confidence and comfort.

GEORGE E. BAMBARA, M.S. D.M.D.
Dr Bambara created the Bi-Model after experiencing first hand the confusion that many patients have when choosing between traditional and attachment overdentures. Understanding that most photo references are two-dimensional, he set out to create a model that would make it much easier to see and understand the advantages of utilizing attachments.
The Bi-Model allows the patient to see both procedural options side-by-side and helps them envision which treatment is best for their long-term health and functionality.
Dr. Bambara lectures nationally and internationally on attachment prosthetics and has been selected as one of the “Top Clinicians in Continuing Education” from 2005 to the present by Dentistry Today magazine. Dr. Bambara publishes articles on attachment dentistry and has authored a chapter on Precision and Semi-Precision Attachments in the recently published textbook Contemporary Esthetic Dentistry.
